Fiat, a popular automobile company in the world has officially introduced the facelifted version of its flagship sedan, which is called as 2014 Fiat Linea. The company has done a major cosmetic update to this vehicle in order to make it look completely refreshing. The company is offering this luxury sedan with both petrol and diesel engine options for the customers to choose from. The petrol version of this sedan is powered by a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine, while the diesel version comes equipped with a 1.3-litre Multijet engine. This latest version comes with a slightly increased length of about 4596mm, which is about 36mm longer than the outgoing model. The company has retained all the technicalities of the outgoing model, while improving some of its features. The company is offering this latest version in a total of three trim levels such as Active, Dynamic and Emotion. Here the Active trim powered by the T-Jet petrol engine comes with a highly proficient disc braking mechanism and it is assisted by the anti-lock braking system. Also it comes with some of the unique features such as rain sensing wipers, programmable follow me home headlamps, programed service reminder and much more features. The Emotion trim comes as the top end version and it is being offered with top rated features such as fire prevention system, dual stage front airbags with early crash sensors, cruise control system, ambient light on dashboard, and several other sophisticated features. The company will be offering this latest sedan in two new color shades such as Magnesio Grey and Sunbeam Gold. In addition to these, there are four other exterior paint options available for the customers such as a Tuscan Wine, Minimal Grey, New Pearl White and Hip Hop Black.

This latest version of Linea sedan comes with a brand new look, thanks to the updated radiator grille and the bumpers. The manufacturer has redesigned the front radiator grille and given it a lot of chrome treatment. At the same time it retained the headlight cluster from the outgoing model and equipped with halogen headlamps. The major update has been given to the bumper with restructured air intake and the fog light console. Apart from these, the company has updated the tail light cluster that compliments the overall look of the vehicle. The manufacturer also updated the interior section of this vehicle by redesigning its dashboard and central console. The dashboard comes with a sleek design that improved the leg space in the cockpit section. Its cabin comes with black and beige color scheme that is complimented by the gloss black finish given on the central console and so on. As far as the features are concerned, the newly introduced Linea comes with advanced yet innovative features such as an advanced infotainment system, an integrated music player with Blue&Me system, USB and AUX-In connectivity. On the other hand, this particular model comes with improved safety aspects such as automatic door locks, double crank prevention system, all four disc brakes and so on.

The petrol variants of this sedan are equipped with a 1.4-litre, DOHC based T-Jet petrol engine that generates a peak mileage of about 12 kmpl in urban areas, while on the highways it gives 15.7 kmpl. On the other hand, the diesel variants of this facelifted sedan are equipped with the company's most popular 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, DOHC Multijet diesel engine that comes equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) for enhanced power production. This engine allows the vehicle to return a minimum 14 kmpl of mileage in city, while giving away 19 kmpl on bigger roads. The company has blessed this model series with a fuel tank that has a storage capacity of 45 litres, which will be helpful in planning longer journeys as well

This latest sedan is available in six variants out of which three are equipped with petrol engine and the other three variant comes equipped with diesel engine option. The petrol variants are loaded with the 1.4-litre T-Jet power plant that has the ability to produce a maximum power of 112.4Bhp at 5,000rpm, while generating a peak torque of 207Nm at 2200rpm. On the other hand, diesel variants of this sedan are powered by a 1.3-litre, Multijet engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger. This engine with has the ability to produce 91.7Bhp of power at 4000rpm and 209Nm torque at 2000rpm. Both these engines are coupled with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that distributes the torque to the front wheels.
The manufacturer is offering this vehicle with both petrol and diesel engine options, which are good at acceleration and pickup. The diesel version of Linea comes equipped with a 1.3-litre, Dual Overhead Camshaft valve configuration based Multi-jet engine that comes incorporated with a Variable Geometry turbo charging unit. This engine enables the vehicle to break the 100 Kmph speed barrier in just 13.8 seconds and it can go up to a top speed of about 170 Kmph, which is rather good. On the other hand, the petrol version of this sedan comes equipped with a 1.4-litre, T-Jet power plant that is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine has the ability to accelerate towards 100 Kmph from a standstill in just 11.14 seconds and it can reach a top speed of about 165 to 170 Kmph, which is rather impressive.
As for the wheels, this sedan is available with both conventional steel wheels and stylish alloy wheels as well. Its Active trim comes as the base level variant and it comes with a traditional 15-inch steel wheels. These rims have been covered with a set of high performance tubeless tyres of size 195/60 R15, which provides better agility and grip to the vehicle. The company is selling the Dynamic trim as the mid level variant and it comes with 15-inch alloy wheels that are covered with high quality tubeless tyres. On the other hand, the top end, Emotion trim comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels that adds to the elegance of the side profile. These alloy rims have been covered with performance based 205/55 R16 sized tubeless radial tyres that enables the vehicle to deal with rugged roads.
